Within the framework of the activities of the Foundation Kana, the interns participate in the meetings, the seminars and intervene in the various programs. Through it, the intern understands the functioning and the philosophy of our work. It is also possible for the foundation to organize tourist journeys in the regions of Cameroon.

Beyond the participation of the foundation, the interns can show plenty of initiative and organize small activities within the partner institutions.

The activities led with interns are:

  • Meetings and Seminars;
  • Accompaniment of projects;
  • Journeys;
  • Carrying out activities.

Meetings and seminars:

Every week the foundation organizes coordination meetings for current activities and extra-ordinary reunions when necessary. In these cases the meetings take place at the office to review the events of the week, to discuss and estimate the projects and leave tasks.

Fondation Kana is member of other associations, thus participates in their seminars and in-service training. The interns can attend them and get involved with their points of view and their ideas there.

With a lot of commitment all participate in the meetings, the seminars and in the other events. The working atmosphere is so very productive for everybody and each always learns something from the others. Photos below show interns in meeting.

Accompaniment of projects:

To understand the philosophy and the objectives of Fondation Kana, the interns accompany the members on the ground, go to schools and institutions. They so discover the working conditions and life in Cameroon.

MEJ (The house for children and young people): we sometimes need every hand to carry out projects and small events of the foundation. Thus the interns can contribute to the success of our work.

Photos below show the interns Maria Schwertl and Stefanie Kandula in MEJ for the 2010 Christmas celebration.

Sun at the school: here the interns accompany the animators to get impregnated with the project, understand it, and together allow its success in schools and partner institutions.

Journeys:

Following internship in Fondation Kana the interns can also travel and discover the beautiful landscapes of Cameroon. For that purpose, we help them as possible to prepare their tourist journey.

To travel form people and to travel in Cameroon is a great pleasure. We sometimes accompany interns on a journey to make them discover unique places which are known only by people of the country. Photos below show the interns in journeys in Dschang (West region of Cameroon), Kribi (Coastal region of Cameroon) and Bandjoun (West region of Cameroon).

Carrying out activities:

Fondation Kana does not want to restrain the creativity of its interns. They have all the latitude to organize small activities in the partner institutions and bring a little of variety in their daily life.

On the occasion of the 45th edition of the youth day in 2011, placed under the theme YOUTH AND CONSOLIDATION OF THE EXPERIENCES OF FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY, Fondation Kana organized socio-educational days, during a week, with the children of the educational private social institution for reeducation and training of Cameroon (CRISPEFP). Those days consisted in leading activities with young people whose the foundation insures schooling and supervision and sponsors the host institution. It was about discussing around the theme of that day and troubles that undermine youth: drug, sexually transmitted diseases and the problems of young people for the greater part.

For that goal the staff of Fondation Kana, accompanied with five (05) interns come from Germany, talked during a day to young people through interactive discussions and role-playing games. In the end, Fondation Kana handed to this partner institution a kit including the necessary to help supervisors of its sports club to train their boarders. Then the last-mentioned presented their know-how in the various workshops of CRISPEFP and alternately every club was visited.

Photos below show that this day was not a pleasure only for the pupils and the interns.
